Mike Mac began tattooing in 2008 after talking his way into an apprenticeship at Oak Park's Skin Abrasions. As a lifelong artist, tattooing formed as an extension of his drawing skills. Mike now focuses almost exclusively on tattoo-related artwork, including his recent interest in watercolor painting Japanese tattoo designs.
Above all else, Mike is an artist with integrity, as demonstrated in his painstaking obsession with the quality of his work. Mike describes his style of tattooing as traditional with inspiration drawn from traditional Americana and Japanese tattoos. Currently he is trying to push larger Japanese style work with traditional imagery such as snakes, hannya masks, finger waves, japanese florals and more.
