Walkin Tattoo Flash, Guest artist updates, latest tattoo projects

Tattoo Shop news and artist updates

July was a busy month and we are keeping that momentum rolling into August. We’ve been getting extra busy with walk in tattoo traffic on top of our regular appointments and we are loving it! We’ve noticed there’s a lot of requests for flash tattoos from new clients coming through the door. If you haven’t been by lately, most of our artists keep a portfolio of predrawn designs hanging out in the lobby to flip through. And These can either be tattooed as is, or used for inspiration for us to draw you something on the spot, or if needing a little more time, making you an appointment for the next couple days. We’ve always tried to walk the line between the accessibility of a street shop with the hands on design process of a custom studio. So while our design books aren’t strictly flash and many of the designs will only be tattooed once, we find they are very handy in Starting the conversation about what a walkin tattoo client might be looking for. So pop in and check out some designs!

A tiger tattoo design in Allie's iconic style

Speaking of, here’s some fresh designs from from Allie.  Allie has been on a roll lately, banging out a ton of new tattoo work and most of these designs still need a home. He’s put down the ipad and gone back to hand drawing this set of tattoo ideas using red pencil on tracing paper. From a creative perspective it can be refreshing to mix up the tools we are using to get a different flow into the creative process. While these would be tattooed black and grey, drawing in a different monocolor like red can give a fresh perspective to the values we use. I’m super impressed with these and hope you guys are too. If you’re not already familiar with Allie’s clean black and grey illustrative style, check out some of his healed tattoo’s here. He’s got a very unique look that borderlines between stipple, fineline, and a hint of traditional if you look for it. To book one of his designs you can fill out his booking form here or just stop in the studio!

new Blackwork tattoo flash

As I said I’ve been pretty impressed and inspired by Allie’s design output lately, so I wanted to do a handful myself. I went back to paper and brush to design these ornamental blackwork designs. The are meant to be done either large or small, so they would make perfect day of walk in tattoos or could be the seed for a larger abstract blackwork project. While these were designed on paper, I’ve digitally superimposed them on some models to give ideas of the different sizing and placement. If any of these interest you either as is or as the inspiration for an abstract blackwork or tribal tattoo design you can let me know by filling out the booking form here!

Also be sure to check out our new style guide on Blackwork and abstract black tattoos to see how some of these projects can turn out as tattoos!

Cyber Sigilism and Neo tribal tattoos coming in hot from upcoming guest artist

We have an old friend and one of our favorite guest artists Kamil or @bohenim on IG coming back to visit us in October. I know this is still a couple months away, but any of you who have been following us for a while know that they book up extremely fast. We’re letting all our regular news readers and subscribers know first, so if you’re seeing this, and want an appointment, don’t sleep! Go to their IG immediately and send them a booking message! Here’s a few pieces they’ve done recently in their signature Cyber Sigilism style of tribal blackwork to remind you of that piece you’ve been meaning to get.

Tattoo Shop Now Hiring

It’s time for a change up in the studio. As happens, resident artists Jeremy and Bryson will be branching out and leaving our studio this month to pursue new chapters in their tattoo careers. I can’t say enough good things about working with both of them and they will be missed in my day to day in the studio. Be sure to follow them on Instagram to keep up with their work and adventures! That also means we are hiring! This is a great opportunity for a tattoo artist with experience to take their career to the next level in a busy studio that focuses on artistic and professional development. If you or someone you know is interested in applying please email me (Gifford) at admin@logansquaretattoo.com with a brief resume and links to socials and a portfolio.
